I am truly pleased to announce the launch of Accounting Works. I have been actively involved in the Richmond public accounting industry for years and good bookkeeping is one of the recurring discussions that I’ve had with other professionals. What do I mean by “good” bookkeeping? Well, at it’s core, it is a business function that 1) increases a client’s ability to manage the business, 2) supports accurate and timely compliance with tax authorities, 3) facilitates work with other professionals, specifically CPA’s, and 4) MOST importantly, delivers more value than cost…which as most of us know doesn’t always equate to dollars and cents.

While building a very capable team of trained and experienced bookkeepers and support staff, we realized that these skills could ALSO be dedicated to assisting CPA firms, through outsourced bookkeeping and individual tax preparation services. The skill set is the same and the need is absolutely evident. Many CPA firms have been squeezed between “you raised my rate again???” pressure on billable rates and the increasing cost of vendors, employees, and employee related costs. In short, most CPA’s are looking for a way to provide additional value to their clients, focus their business services on their chosen niches, and improve the long-term success of their business and ensure their continued positive impact with their clients. Our services are designed to produce just that.

For all of you who have started up businesses, you know how exciting and terrifying the experience is…especially in a market like this.
